Iowa Congressman Steve King on Executive Amnesty

Congressman King is a member of the House Judiciary Committee, where he sits on the Constitution Subcommittee and the Immigration Subcommittee. He believes the Constitution means what it says and that it should be read in light of the intent of our founding fathers. King is never caught without a copy of the Constitution in his coat pocket. The Congressman brings valuable knowledge to Congress as a small business owner for 28 years.

U.S. Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, who favors tough enforcement of immigration laws, has introduced the “Defund Executive Amnesty Act” in opposition to President Barack Obama’s plans to administratively shield millions of undocumented immigrants from deportation.

“My bill defunds all of the President’s illegal and unconstitutional actions regarding immigration,” King said in a prepared statement. This begins by addressing so-called “Morton Memos,” issued by Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director John Morton, continuing through Obama’s initiative known as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals and “covering all of his most recent illegal and unconstitutional acts” to prevent the deportation of up to 5 million additional undocumented immigrants, King said.
